A small sea plane made an emergency landing into New York's East River on Friday afternoon.

The plane was carrying seven people including creator of hit TV show Scrubs and co-creator of Cougar Town, 48-year-old Bill Lawrence, who documented the moment the plane landed in the river.

The NYPD Harbor Unit rescued all seven passengers and crew from the disabled seaplane after it landed.

The plane reportedly left New York Skyports Marina to go to East Hampton Airport, but was forced to land around 21:35 GMT.
